Waqas S. has spent three years with Allshore and has impressed his clients and team members alike.
Waqas’ client praised his work by saying: “Waqas is a very motivated and dedicated developer. He is very skilled at C#, VB.NET, SQL, SQL Reporting, DotNetNuke, Quickbooks, and general accounting as well as having many other skills. He has a great capacity to learn new technologies and skills and is always willing to go the extra mile to solve problems. We have never had a better developer from Allshore.
RK, Waqas’ Team Lead, had this to say about him: “Waqas is one of the liveliest members of my team. He knows when the time to work is, and when the time to play is. That is a main reason his client and I are very happy with him. Waqas is very sociable and supportive, as well as being a great team player. He always goes the extra mile to get things done, you can give him a task and forget about it; Waqas will do whatever it takes to get it done.”
We talked with Waqas to learn more about his life, and his time with Allshore.
So tell us about your time working with the company.
It’s simply awesome. I have been with Allshore for the last three years. Being with Allshore/Datum is really my best work experience ever. I have worked for a UK based software house, as well Pakistani local software houses, but I have never felt secure, motivated, or trustworthy before.
What are the differences you have noticed between working with UK/local houses and US?
US clients are more realistic in their approach. There is no sugar coating; things are simple and straightforward. Also, we work directly with the client. There’s no middleman, and the direct communication helps immeasurably. Plus, we have Client Relations Managers, and they are always there to help in case of any miscommunication. We have senior team management, and they are there to help with technical aspects. So all an all, we have a unique but effective working model.
Could you tell us about your family?
I live together with my whole family: my wife and our two daughters, my parents, younger brother, and my in-laws. We all live together as one large happy family.
How old are your daughters?
The elder is five years and the younger is one and half years old. To me this is my entire world.
Is there anything you guys enjoy doing together in your free time?
Fighting, shouting, and all sorts of fun activities. I belong to a very small village, and we have picnics sometimes. We normally don’t go out of town for picnics, but whenever we go, we have to hire a van for it.
What are your personal hobbies?
I like gardening, horseback riding, and hunting. When I was young I was fond of playing computer games.
What are some of your favorite childhood games?
Well I liked Prince of Persia at that time, and then there was Mario I also enjoyed.
And how long have you been doing horseback riding?
I have since my childhood.
That’s great! Do you own any horses?
I have one horse.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you travel to?
I would go to Saudi Arabia and Spain. I am also very fond of the Roman Empire, so you can add Rome to that list as well.
Do you have a favorite sport? Or any you play?
I like cricket, hockey, and football. I played cricket and football at the college level.
Do you have any favorite professional players?
Yes, Imran Khan.
What is your favorite: room in your house, movie, and day of the week?
My favorite room is my own room of course, and my favorite day is Friday. As for movies, I am not sure, as I normally don’t like watching movies.
