We decided to have a talk with Farjad to learn more about what he does in and out of the office.
Will you start with a little background information about yourself?
Well, I’m from Gujranwala, where I was born and raised. Gujranwala is not as developed as Lahore yet, but it’s a very relaxing place. I personally like Gujranwala the most.
What is your favorite thing about Gujranwala?
My favorite thing about Gujranwala is that it doesn’t have a lot of hustle and bustle, especially were I live. I like calm places more, like the mountains, especially when it snows.
What are some of your personal hobbies that you partake in?
Well, come to think of it I don’t have any particular hobby. However, I do like collecting different electrical parts for fun experiments and to understand more and more of how things actually works in the computer world. I like to learn things related to computers like programing languages, about hardware, and different algorithms.
What about your family? Tell us a little about them and what you all like to do together for fun.
I have two younger brothers and two sisters, one sister being older than me. Usually on holidays we all gather at home and like to play games and enjoy dinner outside.
Have you and your family traveled to any fun or interesting places before?
Yes, during the last Eid holiday, we all went on a trip to Islamabad. On the third day of Eid, my family and our cousins went to Islamabad for a picnic. We were planning to go to Murree in the mountains, but unfortunately we had to postpone it due to traffic. So we stayed in Islamabad for a night, had a nice barbecue, and visited the Faisal Mosque as well.
What is your favorite: color, movie, and sport?
My favorite colors are blue and black, and I love to play badminton. If two movies are enough, I like The Matrix and Fearless, but I have a huge list of favorites. Watching movies and anime is what I do on most of my days off.
Tell us about your experiences working in the company.
This is the fifth company I have worked with during my eight years working in this field, and I am very pleased to see how this company operates. The environment is very friendly, and above all it’s a well-managed organization where a developer can give it their best and learn a lot of new skills. Our managers and Team Leads help us to grow, our Client Relations Managers gradually improve our speaking power, and there are many talented developers sitting beside us for support.
What is your favorite framework to work with? Why?
Well, I am good with many frameworks and most of them I like, but if I have to choose one then that would be WordPress. WordPress is an ever evolving and demanding framework now-a-days. I like this framework due to its flexibility, expandability, and customization.
What, in your opinion, are the key ingredients in guiding and maintaining successful business relationships?
In my opinion, communication is the key. Being an effective listener, being able to address other’s concerns, and being able to convey your ideas to others are all very important. Especially in our field, we should learn to compromise and accept our mistakes instead of blaming others, in order to have a better relationship with our clients.
What are the most important skills and abilities in order to remain successful in this career?
Our field is very vast and ever growing, so we should always be ready to accept new challenges and learn new things. In our field, the only successful ones are those who keep themselves updated on the latest technologies and always find better solutions to problems, instead of just relying on their current knowledge. The following are some of the most important skills and abilities for developers: communication, competency, learning to compromise, being an effective listener, problem solving, confidence, and motivation.
If Farjad could play any part in a movie, he’d love to play the role of a hero. Flying would be his super power of choice, though he admitted he’d rather be like Superman than Iron Man. He’d love to travel and see all the wonders of the world. We love working with Farjad and hope he’ll hang around for many more years with us!
